Mapi connector configuration for Microsoft Outlook


The MAPI Connector for Microsoft Outlook allows you to synchronize your email client with your webmail in real time, so you always have the same data on hand, regardless of the device you are plugged into.

Synchronization is bidirectional and compatible with the Exchange ActiveSync service for a potential total synchronization of all your fixed and mobile devices.

The connector also supports the SSL connection to safeguard all communications between clients and the MAPI server.

To enable the MAPI connection, you must have an Outlook plugin installed that allows connection; the plugin is compatible with the following versions of Outlook:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2003 (with Office SP3)
  • Microsoft Outlook 2007
  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32bit and 64bit)
  • Microsoft Outlook 2013 (32bit and 64bit)

The MAPI connection is only available for the Flexi email service.

We recommend using the MAPI connector only for calendar synchronization, contacts, and tasks with the server, while for the email, it is best to use a normal POP3 or IMAP account.

MAPI installation

  1. Close Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Download the installation file here.
  3. Launch the installation file and follow the wizard.
  4. Open Microsoft Outlook (you can prompt for a plugin update).

MAPI mail account configuration

(Guide valid for Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013)

  1. Select the "File" menu and then "Add account".
  2. Select "Manually configure server settings" or "Additional server types".
  3. Select "Other" and then "Mail enable server".
  4. Enter your password and click on "Resolve": the action should automatically fill in the data fields.
    Otherwise enter:
    Server Address: mail.dominiando.email
    User Name: [the email you are configuring]
  5. Edit the "Your Name" and "Account Description" fields, then click on "OK".Mapi

At this point, the MAPI connector will immediately synchronize the calendar, contacts and tasks with the server.
From now on, any changes made to the server (e.g. via webmail or ActiveSync) will also be visible on Outlook and vice versa.
